Meet Shannon: a Journey of Resilience

Shannon is an author, advocate, and accomplished human resources executive with over 20 years of experience navigating the complexities of human connection. Shannon’s keen eye for detail is a product of her Midwest roots, fueling both her writing and her career.

Her literary journey began in 2024 with the release of 'The Long Goodbye,' a poignant chronicle of her father’s battle with pancreatic cancer and a roadmap for navigating the universal, yet often silenced, experience of grief. In 2025, Shannon turned her pen toward survival with 'Silent No More.' As a survivor of sexual abuse and domestic violence, she wrote this memoir to break the cycle of toxic relationships and empower others to reclaim their voices.

Shannon holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix and a master’s degree from Colorado Christian University. When she isn't advocating for others or leading in the corporate world, she is a proud mother of two adult children and a doting aunt to many nieces and nephews. She finds her balance through travel and the simple joy of time spent with family and friends.

From Grief to Insight: My Author's Journey

My life's path has been profoundly shaped by both loss and an unwavering spirit of resilience. In 2016, following my father's pancreatic cancer diagnosis, I found solace and strength in journaling and blogging, a practice that eventually blossomed into my first book, 'The Long Goodbye.' This foundational experience paved the way for 'Silent No More,' a courageous narrative detailing my survival of toxic relationships, sexual abuse, and domestic violence. Through my writing, I aim to amplify the voices of those who feel unheard and to illustrate that healing and recovery are profoundly possible for everyone.

Guiding with Lived Experience: my Consulting Approach

My unique perspective as a consultant is forged directly from my own life's challenges. Having personally navigated and survived profound grief, the loss of a parent, sexual abuse, narcissistic relationships, and domestic violence, I possess a rare depth of understanding. This first-hand experience empowers me to offer not just empathy, but genuine insight and expert guidance to individuals and organizations facing similar complexities. My journey equips me to be a beacon for others seeking their own path to healing and empowerment.

Credibility, Trust, and Expertise: my Commitment

Ultimately, my goal is for every person who learns about my work to recognize me as a credible, trustworthy, and authoritative expert in resilience, healing, and overcoming adversity. I strive to build connections that inspire confidence, leading to opportunities for speaking engagements and podcast appearances where I can share my insights more broadly. I am dedicated to empowering audiences with practical wisdom and heartfelt encouragement, demonstrating that every struggle holds the potential for profound growth and transformation.

"Just finished 'Silent No More'..... She's an outstanding writer and this book is so good. Shannon courageously shares her story shining a light on pain, control, and abuse from toxic relationship....while powerfully showing her resilience."
